01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

A few skewers, or a mix of small plates? At AtoD Stand, putting together your order is part of the pleasure of a relaxed evening with drinks. The yakitori menu features freshly butchered Kai Shingen chicken, skewered in-house each day and grilled over binchotan charcoal after you order. Choose from classics such as negima, chicken wings, gizzards and tsukune, as well as asparagus wrapped in meat, shiitake mushrooms with butter and soy sauce, and Camembert. Visitors have also written about ordering skewers of heart, tsukune and gizzards, as well as Camembert. There are options for a meal centred on meat, or for adding cheese and vegetables between skewers.

There is more beyond the skewers, from quick bites to a satisfying finish. Small plates that come out promptly include raw green pepper, green onion miso and honey-pepper cream cheese; chicken skin with ponzu and seasonal vegetables in dashi are also on the menu. For something warm, try fried Shingen chicken thigh or fried spring rolls with chicken breast and cheese. To round off the meal, choose a grilled rice ball with soy sauce, sea urchin soy sauce or green onion miso, or finish with chicken broth ochazuke.

The listed menu includes the “2000-bero” set, which pairs three drinks with either three assorted chilled dishes or three assorted skewers. Drinks include sours, shochu highballs, Hoppy and whisky, with beer also available as one of the choices. The menu states that the skewer option is available until 21, and the set until 22. For a wider choice of drinks, there is also a “3000-bero” set featuring options such as wine, sake and named whiskies. Counter seating is available, and the restaurant is described as suitable for solo diners. It works for an evening that begins with a skewer and a drink, or one built around a succession of small plates.
